Sonograms for the Stars by Pete Hurst

Tom Cruise has announced that he’s going to buy a sonogram machine so he and his pregnant fiancée, Katie Holmes, can watch the development of their child. Later on, he will donate the machine to a hospital.

This news may have medical equipment businesses excited. A whole line of designer sonogram machines can be developed for the stars with names like Sunset Strip Sonograms.

I don’t know where Tom and Katie are on the whole abortion issue, but I couldn’t help but think about the general Hollywood community and its loyal fan support. I figure these folks to be big abortion rights activists. As they think about how sweet it is for Tom and Katie to watch everything, I have to wonder why they would think such about simply observing some tissue in a woman’s body. This is a great example of how man thinks he is God. If it’s cute and I want it, it is a baby; but if I don’t want it, it is tissue that man can do with as he pleases.

The news about Cruise purchasing the sonogram machine came in an interview with Barbara Walters. In the interview Cruise said he wouldn’t reveal the gender of the child and then Barb asked him.”So what do you see?” and he answered, “a little baby.”

Tom, you are exactly right! You see a baby. That is exactly who is there in every pregnancy, a real live baby. And that is the tragedy of our times, that we are so foolish as a society to think that by believing it is something else, it makes it such. But it doesn’t. Tom’s right, it’s a baby.
