Church Scene Investigation

by Pete Hurst

Did you hear about the statue of the Virgin Mary in a church in Sacramento, California, that has red stains coming from its eyes. Some suppose it is crying tears of blood and it is sort of like an omen that something bad is about to happen. What with wars, hurricanes, tsunamis, bird flu and other things lately, I’d say that’s a pretty safe prophetic interpretation.

What I’d like to suggest is that someone get the folks from CSI down in Los Angeles to come up to Sacramento to take some samples on their q-tips. I’ve watched these folks on Channel 3 and they are pretty good at what they do with all those little tubes and droppers and spinning machine thingies. I can just hear someone objecting that this is mixing church and state, but I’ve watched those people on CSI and they seem like good folks who might be willing to do this on their own time. Maybe someone has already had the foresight to put a drop or two in a sandwich bag in case the CSI team gets there too late.
