"Confession is good for the soul." This is a proverb that we might consider as unconditionally true. In his heart man knows he is a sinner and has a burden to confess this sin and thus alleviate guilt. Rushdoony, however, calls the reader to examine what God says about how confession is to be rightly done. (more) |
'Value' is a word that interests us. We almost always relate the word to economics. Businesses look at the value of an item based how it will impact the bottom line -- the profit or loss in monetary terms. Individuals have to regularly determine whether to pay the price of merchandise. They may be willing to pay the assigned price based on personal need of it, peer pressure, or self-gratification. The Epistle of First John was inspired for the purpose of the Christian's assurance of salvation. This book is not a commentary on 1 John. However, it shares the same emphasis as 1 John. The contributors write with the knowledge that Christians should have true assurance. (more) |

The events leading up to and including Christ's death are very familiar to Christians. So familiar in fact that it is easy to read through these passages quickly with an "I know that" attitude. In these fifty-two devotional meditations Krummacher takes us over this scriptural ground at a pace that provokes thought and self-examination by the reader. (more) |

Today is a day of much individualistic thinking within the contemporary church. How do Christians committed to thinking covenantly respond to the current scene? Now is not the first time this question has been asked.

Calvin's words, "Time exists to show Christ's glory," on the title page provides the focus for this small book. Noted Reformation historian J. H. Merle D'Aubigne gave the address reproduced in these pages on the three hundredth anniversary of Calvin's death. On that day, May 27, 1864, the crowd gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, heard the speaker focus not so much on Calvin, as on Calvin's joy -- the Lord Jesus Christ. (more) |

Sinners marry sinners. In a fallen world this is the only possibility because all mankind are born sinners and sin manifold times. This basic fact is easily forgotten in the midst of marriage problems. We find it much easier to point the finger at our spouses' sin than to admit our own. (more) |

Sadly, too many evangelicals have obtained their view of the end times by reading popular eschatological fiction such as the Left Behind series or viewing a similar interpretation in visual media format. In this very readable volume, the author points the reader back to relevant scripture passages. (more) |

I believe that God plans for His kingdom to advance in the world. One petition Christ taught His disciples to pray was "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." (Mt. 6:10) Since this is a request Jesus taught His disciples to pray, we can expect God's kingdom to increasingly come on earth. |
We can hardly imagine life in the Garden of Eden prior to Adam's sin. God had provided for all of man's needs -- even given him a wife. The trees of the Garden were Adam's to use for God's glory. Adam was even to use the forbidden tree, the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for God's glory by avoiding its fruit. (more) |
